Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport is the gateway to the South West, it consists of three terminals, terminal 2, 3 and 4. Terminal 1 is no longer in operation. Sky Harbor airport handles over 1,200 flights and 100,000 passengers every day. That’s a lot of people needing to get in and out of the airport. Each terminal has its own parking garages as well as two economy parking garages that are located to the west and east of the airport as a whole. These are connected to the three terminals by shuttle buses that run every ten minutes. All parking lots have the same hourly rate of $4, however terminal parking has a daily maximum fee of $25 whereas economy has a maximum of $11 for covered parking and $9 for uncovered. There are two complementary waiting areas where drivers can wait in their car to collect passengers. The maximum waiting time is 30 minutes. These waiting areas are located to the west and east of the airport. These waiting areas also have live flight arrival information.
There are a eleven rental car services available at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. They are all located in the Rental Car Center located west of the airport. A shuttle bus leaves outside of every terminal for the Rental Car Center every ten minutes.
Shuttle buses connect the three terminals (for connecting flights), economy parking, and to the 44th Street and Washington Metro Light Rail stop. The Metro Light Rail runs through Phoenix, Tempe and parts of Mesa. Buses connect to the light rail from everywhere in Phoenix and surrounding areas.
There are many private shuttle bus services that will collect you at your home or hotel and bring you to your terminal. You must call in advance to arrange a pick up. These are shared services and will get you and our luggage to the airport at a budget friendly price. These services also operate to and from many other Arizona destinations like Sedona, Prescott, Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon and many more.
Three taxi companies offer services from all terminals. Prices are fixed across all companies. The prices are as follows: $5 for the first mile, $2.30 each additional mile, $23 per hour of traffic and a $1 airport surcharge. The minimum fee is $15. Rates may vary depending on luggage and the number of passengers traveling.
